Aug 01, 2002 · My fuel pump whines/hums periodically - not all of the time - has been doing this since I bought the car in 1997. I've read here and elsewhere that changing the fuel filter sometimes helps. I do this annually and it still whines/hums from time to time - not all of the time.
Check the fuel pump fuse. Often, it's not the pump itself that fails to function, but the power that supplies it. This car's filter is located between the engine and the fuel pump. Check by attaching a rubber hose to one outlet and blowing through the filter into a napkin.

Pulled fuel pump relay and put in a jumper wire to run the fuel pump and it started. Put the fuel pump relay back in and it starts and drives, but the fuel pump still doesn't prime when turning the key on. I'm afraid that after sitting overnight, it will once again refuse to start. Oct 24, 2016 · I just recently replaced the fuel pump with a brand new OEM pump because that seemed like the likely cause for it not starting but it still tends to have that problem. Now that isn't too big a deal to me because if I let it sit for like 5-10 minutes it'll start right back up, plus it doesn't happen all that often.

well i looked at the pinout of the flasher in the manual and it is difficult to figure out where the Fuel Pump not priming comes in. But as that video says, ' just try another one and see if it works', well that tells me that HE doesn't know what exactly it does either. The electrical diagrams for this bike SUCK.

Jun 12, 2019 · This because there’s not enough fuel pressure to properly atomize the fuel as it enters the combustion chamber. If your Taurus is difficult to start, a bad fuel pump would probably not be the place to start looking, especially if you are’t getting a fuel related trouble code. Instead, we’d recommend taking a look at the ignition system first.

#1 prime pump failed. #2 prime pump power wire came loose #3 inlet line pressed into housing came loose leaking fuel when not running and sucking air when running. Anywhere from the prime pump to the tank it can suck air. It would be better if the pump was in the tank then the only time it could suck air is when you are out of fuel.

would be a good idea to check fuel pressure. should read about 43 lbs with just turning key to on position. your pump may not be putting out the right pressure even if it is turning on. my grandson got stuck with his car and my pressure guage was not set up to read the pressure on his system (nissan maxima). disconnected top line of filter and ... The Engine Computer would be the least likely suspect on that list.

You need to address the brown fuel issue. Either the fuel is old and varnished or moisture/condensate has accumulated in the tank(s). Drain the tank(s), purge the lines and replace the fuel filter(s). If the fuel is really bad, you may need to replace the fuel pump, too.
